Catch Jack and Rebecca on Autism One Radio

Because we are aware that many families of children with autism are unable to attend church (and those who do can always use some extra encouragement), we now broadcast a half-hour radio program each week on Autism One Radio an internet-based radio station (to learn more about Autism One Radio, please click here (you will be redirected to the Autism One Radio website).

The program, entitled "Children of Destiny: Spiritual Strength and Hope for Families Struggling with Autism" airs every Sunday morning from 11:00-11:30 am US Eastern Time (10:00 am Central, 9:00 am Mountain, 8:00 am Pacific).

To access this program, please go to http://autismone.org/radio. It can be accessed from any computer with internet capabilities. If you are unable to catch the broadcast at the time it airs, you can access them at any time through the Autism One Radio archives, or click on the links provided below for any specific program.

Arising to a New Day
There are times in every one of our lives when we hit deep despair and great confusion. When we find ourselves in that condition, we need to be aware that God has planned a day when we will be able to arise into a new season. As that day begins to dawn, God can break all the confusion and disappointment of the past season off our lives and can clothe us with favor and strength for a new advancement.

The Awesome Names of God, Part One
As we look at the various names God is called in the Bible, we can come to a deeper understanding of who He is, and what He longs to do for us. It also gives us greater boldness and confidence to come before Him in prayer, knowing that based on His character, He will hear and answer! In this, the first of a two-part message, we look at God as Provider, Fortress, Healer, Shepherd, Rock, Our Peace, and Our Strength.

God has a specific and hopeful future for each member of our family, as well as for the family as a whole. Even though we may have unexpected issues to deal with in life, it does not negate God’s plans for us. Even though we may not know specifically what the future holds, we can get a general idea of God’s direction in our lives, at least for the next season. Having a vision is imperative for ensuring that we are staying on track with the Lord. This message gives three principles of having a godly vision, and one practical excersize for gaining and maintaining your vision for the future.

Great Expectations
God is able to move on our behalf when we expect Him to do so. It really is a simple matter of faith. Do we have faith in God or not? The answer to that question really does determine the path we will follow and what the future holds. This article tell the story of how I discovered that my problem was not what God expected of me, but what I expected of God. It is written to help readjust your expectations of God and bring you to a whole new level of faith as well.

Hearing the Voice of God
There are times in every life when we find ourselves in situations that we cannot get freed from, no matter how hard we try. Every one of us has times when we need help – times when we are distressed. When we cry out to God, He is faithful to send us help through the Holy Spirit. The work of the Holy Spirit is often little understood by Christians. This article is written to help give a basic understanding of the Holy Spirit, who is our Helper.

Help is on the Way
When we think about it, prayer is an amazing thing. Through prayer, we are able to communicate with God, Himself. When we pray, the Divine Creator of the universe is listening to us as we present the deepest cries of our hearts to Him. But as we are praying, are we also listening to Him? Have you ever considered that prayer is actually a two-way conversation, and that He has something to say back to you? In this message we look at five reasons it may be difficult to hear God's voice, and eight ways in which the Lord may speak to us.

Is God Really Sovereign?
When our children are suffering with any disease, the natural question is, “Why, God?” Perhaps a better question for us to ask is, “Is this your plan for my child’s life?” It is hard for many Christians to ask that type of question because there is a basic belief many have that everything that happens on Earth, and especially those things beyond our control, must be God’s will. But is it really? That is the question we wrestle with in this program.

It's "Dew" Time
Many passages in the Bible liken the refreshment the ground receives from dew to the refreshment that God provides us in our own lives as well. As parents of special needs children, the demands on our lives can often leave us feeling sapped of strength; dry and parched. Overcoming the Mountain, Part One
When we first received our son’s diagnosis of autism, we felt as if we’d run straight into a mountain. It felt overwhelming and unconquerable, and the terrain was unlike anything we had ever navigated in the past. Knowing that God had given us many promises for our future and our son’s future, we began to tackle that which seemed unyielding. As we have journeyed over the mountain these past several years, we have learned one thing: God is faithful. Even if moving the mountain means doing it rock by rock, we have found that God always has a way. As we tackle any of life’s obstacles, we need to understand that there is a process we need to go through in order to overcome the mountain. This two-part series offers nine principles, each of which is crucial for overcoming. In this article we list the first four principles, and will conclude in Part Two with the remaining five steps of the process.

Success!
God longs for us to succeed. But achieving the success and prosperity that God has for us and for our family is not automatic just because we are His children. We must cooperate and participate with the plan of God to help us move toward all He has for us. This week we look at four keys to helping us be successful in life.

Sweep Out the Old Things of 2006

Why Pray?
In this program we look at why prayer is often difficult and frustrating. Many may feel discouraged or even doubt the effectiveness of prayer. We will look at what prayer is, what God is expecting from us, but, even more importantly, what we should be expecting from God as we pray.
